Final Designs

Packaging Lid Design

Packaging Lid Design

For my lid I started off with the plain circular background.

Next I placed my logo into the center of the design.

I wanted my lid design to relate to my wrap around so I took the background and placed it onto the design.

However I found that with the background my logo wasent very elegiable. I made another circle and placed it underneath my logo. This allowed my logo to stand out.

I then added a border around the circle.

I looked at using a darker colour to help contrast the logo which I really liked.

To finish off I made the outline of the circle darker aswell.

Packaging design development

Packaging design development

I really like how I had the box at the top off my coffee design and wanted to use that idea for my final design. After adding my background I drew out this shape using the pen tool.

However I thought that the shape looked a little plain so I placed my pattern over the shape which I really liked.

Next I added my logo to my design.

I played around with the logo size, making sure the logo was bold and eye catching.

The next thing I looked at was the positioning of my text. After trying out different places for the text I found that the text fit comftably ust under the logo.

I did the same for the lactose free text; trying out different positions. I liked the thought of having lactose free at the bottom of the design, however it was very hard to see with the background. I added in a small line across the bottom which worked well and really made the lactose free stand out.

For the nutrients table I started off with a rounded edge square and added in the basic content.

I thought that the table looked too plain so I thought It would be a good idea to take the same shape I idrew for the front
and use that as the table.

I continued to add in the final values for the table.

Finally using the line tool I drew out the lines separating the text.

With the table complete I added it onto the net.

I needed to add in the ingredients next, and because my net is curved I needed to arch my text. However after putting the text underneath the table I didn't really like how it looked.

However I had an idea to place the ingredients list at the bottom of the table which fit perfectly.

To finish off I added in the weight, barcode and recyclable symbol for the legal requirements.

Designing the pattern

I wanted to create a pattern instead of using one from the internet, so using the pen tool i created this.

Putting the pattern together

I put the pattern together in a sequence, which created this larger pattern.

Adding the colour scheme

I decided to incorporate the colour scheme and pattern together and created these for the background of each design.

Colour schemes

Colour schemes

I made a quick colour scheme for each flavour that i feel represents the three flavour.

Net

Net

Made a variety of nets each time adjusting the curves angle.

I found that net three fit the best around my vessel. I did the same thing again; taking the net and slightly changing the angle.

Final net.

Packaging vessel ideas

I decided to look at the different packaging vessels that i could potentially use for my final design.

Packaging typeface

Packaging typeface

I started to look at a variety of typefaces that i could potentially use on the design. In the end I decided that I was going to use .......... as it how it was a simple font and it went well with the script logo, without drawing your attention away from the logo.

After choosing to use this font I decided to make a few adjustments to the text. I started off by making the type more thin and elegant. Finally I added a gold gradient so that it matches with my logo.
