Designing the pattern

I wanted to create a pattern instead of using one from the internet, so using the pen tool i created this.

Putting the pattern together

I put the pattern together in a sequence, which created this larger pattern.

Adding the colour scheme

I decided to incorporate the colour scheme and pattern together and created these for the background of each design.

Colour schemes

Colour schemes

I made a quick colour scheme for each flavour that i feel represents the three flavour.

Net

Net

Made a variety of nets each time adjusting the curves angle.

I found that net three fit the best around my vessel. I did the same thing again; taking the net and slightly changing the angle.

Final net.

Packaging typeface

Packaging typeface

I started to look at a variety of typefaces that i could potentially use on the design. In the end I decided that I was going to use .......... as it how it was a simple font and it went well with the script logo, without drawing your attention away from the logo.

After choosing to use this font I decided to make a few adjustments to the text. I started off by making the type more thin and elegant. Finally I added a gold gradient so that it matches with my logo.

Logo Development

Logo Development

Thumbnails

I started off with drawing a couple of thumbnails just to get a few ideas.

Sketches/Drawings

I chose to use this design and drew out the design in more detail.

Illustrator Development

Next i went onto illustrator and using the pen tool i drew out a simple template of the design. With the template finished i made slight refinements to logo until i came up with this final design.

Using the pen tool I traced my design .....
Now I had a rough vector version of my logo I could start developing it further. I started off with extending the end of the G to add a more script feel. Next I didn't like how the T's flick looked and I found that there was a lot of space around the top area, so I drew out this swirl design which I found really added to my flowy script look I wanted to show.
Too finish off I needed to look at a colour scheme. I really like how this design from my research ......  Had used gold in there design which I feel would really push my design to a more medium/high market position.

The Haagen-Dazs ice cream is the vessel that i would be using to showcase my design as i really liked the gold lid. And i really wanted to take the gold colour from the lid and put that into my logo. Using the gold tones from the lid i was able to add a gradient to my logo to create this shiny gold look.

Packaging brainstorm ideas

Packaging brainstorm ideas

I created a list of potential product i could use for each brief.  In the end i decided to go for the Sugar Free brief as it gave me a which i could use for my final design.

After quickly brainstorming a few products that i would like to do i chose that i am going to base my design around ice cream and starting a second brainstorm for my products name.
